Goldie Lookin' Chain - Safe As F*ck
Yo Clarts,
I went to the Scala at King's Cross last Monday evening to witness the power of the Goldie Lookin' Chain - Newport's finest, & you knows it.
When I arrived, there were two DJs on stage - I have no idea who they were, but they were class DJs, playing many classics from the worlds of Rock, Indie, Hip Hop, and even Pop, and were pros in mixing them all together.
Soon after, a support act came on - a bunch of people who looked like chavs (what with the lead singer wearing a long white fur coat). At first I thought they were a joke act, but their music was terrible, and they were serious. The boos got louder and louder at the end of their songs, and after their 30 minute set was the loudest cheers in their entire set - because they were off.
So back came the 2 DJs, with more classics being played, and in this space came something impressive - they managed to remix Max Romeo's Chase The Devil with another song that uses a sample from that - Prodigy's Out Of Space (Real Media Clip | Windows Media Clip).
As the DJ set went on, there was more & more "GLC! GLC!" chanting, and soon enough they came on to do a 55 minute set, and featured some pants throwing from the audience and water throwing at the audience. All tracks they performed were quality and included:
