Bring on Rocktober
Hi everyone,

Might as well use this little bit of free time to talk about everything thats been happening on my end lately.

Last Friday I went another Southpaw gig, and again they were quality, and this time round I went kinda crazy (admittadely I was most crazy not during the gig, but on camera afterwards - & yes I did dance). Was a good evening deffo, and I'm looking forward to seeing them again some day soon.

I was expecting last weekend to be a massive rest, but I ended up spending much of it helping my brother with redecorating and going out a fair few times to get various things from B&Q Wandsworth. On top of that was a trek to Kingston for extra floor tiles on Monday.

As well as a trip out into deepest West London (trying to find some specific items of clothing for as cheap as possible, but not succeeding), Tuesday was the day of my first proper ULU shift (ie, my 2nd 1). This second shift mainly consisted of learning a few things (such as everything needed for room setups, doorman duties and floating in bars), moving quite a lot of furniture and boxes, and being doorman for the first time ever. The doorman bit was the part I enjoyed the most on this shift, but maybe thats because it involves a chance to be cheerful. It took some time to clear people away and the bars at closing time though.

Wednesday was a day largely spent recovering from work - lots of rest and sleep. By Thursday I was fully recovered for my third shift at ULU. This shift started off very slow and slightly confusingly, but it ended up being a fun shift. Me and this other steward took it in hourly turns in floating (old term for that by the way is being potman - how's that for trivia) and being doorman. We also had a bouncer to assist us on the door, and he was good company as well. The poeple in the bar were cheerful as well, some.....erm....were maybe too cheerful - & drunk. Oh yeah got a few high 5s from some (tipsy) punters too - always nice. Oh and also the shift finished short of 11:30, mainly because people were quicker to be cleared away.

I didn't feel quite so bad on Friday, and I ended up going out to Hammersmith in the day to get a much needed new duvet from Rosebys (which is very good value) & in the early evening I went up to UCL to see Fawzi. Last time I went through UCL was for my interview there back in February 2004 (that despite going near there so many times), and it's changed a fair bit since then - fair few new buildings around in particular. Anyways, Fawzi took me to his room and we chilled out a fair bit - oh & I also saw a video on his computer of his quality act in this year's Dulwich 6th form revue. It was a quality chill out.

Well, today is the start of October. However, I saw a better name for the month somewhere which I'll be using - ROCKTOBER. And it should be a month of quality, what with uni starting (yeah that wll deffo have its busy side as well, but with friends returng it should all be cool) and also my birthday. Bring it on.
